Sit For A Bit

Know Before

A sit spot is a favourite place in nature that you visit and experience regularly. It’s a place where you can take it all in and choose to be observant and reflective.

It’s really about giving yourself the opportunity to quiet your mind and focus your senses on nature.

Get Out The Door

  1. Find a place along Twelve Mile Creek to sit down.

  2. Focus directly on being present. Quiet your mind.

  3. Expand your senses and awareness to study patterns and notice interactions between the water, local plants, insects and animals.

  4. Repeat as often as you can.

Think Some More

How much movement and sound is there around you?

Is the overall activity level constant? Is there a pattern to changes in activity along the shoreline?

Notice how you feel physically and emotionally.
